Under Dubai RTA’s Ramadan Initiative, Low-Income Individuals To Get Free Iftar Meals In Key Areas

Ramadan is a month of self-reflection and giving back to the community. And keeping up with the spirit, the Dubai Roads and Travel Authority is doing something special for the people in the city. Especially focusing on low-income individuals, they are offering free Iftar meals at key locations as a part of its Ramadan initiative this year. Here’s more about the noble cause.

Dubai RTA Begins Ramadan Initiative

For this year’s Ramadan initiative, Dubai RTA is offering Iftar meals at key locations for low-income individuals, such as drivers, delivery riders, labourers, and truck drivers. A part of its larger programme, the aim is to include 20 community events. There are even plans for interactive charitable activities, and these initiatives will be held in key locations. Yes, these will be happening in locations of RTA’s headquarters, marine transport hubs, and metro stations.

In fact, among the standout efforts is the ‘Iftar Saem’ initiative. This was launched in collaboration with Beit Al Khair Society. Another stand-out effort is the Meals on Wheels programme, which will be beginning in the second week of Ramadan.

Plans To Launch Ramadan Rations

The aim of the latter is to support bus drivers, delivery riders, truck drivers, labour accommodations, and abra commuters. In fact, 5,000 Iftar meals will be distributed at metro stations, and these will be accompanied by special kiosks, which will offer symbolic gifts to labourers.

As revealed by RTA, the initiatives have been designed in such a way that benefits people in the low-income groups. Moreover, it aligns with the UAE Vision for 2025 by declaring it as the ‘Year of Community’. Additionally, RTA will also be launching ‘Ramadan Rations’ initiative. This is an initiative of Zayed Humanitarian Workday and is observed on the 19th day of Ramadan every year. Observed the memory of UAE’s founding father, initiative offers essential food supplies for low-income families, and the distribution is done of nol cards.
