“Bahubali” was that one franchise that, when it walked in, broke many records unexpectedly. From memes to thalis, you could hear the name everywhere. Known as the king of all thalis, the Bahubali thali became a huge hit on social media. Many people tried this unique thali but could not finish it. So is it really a unique thali or just another way people are wasting food, is what the recent debate on the internet is about.

Bahubali Thali Served In Chennai Restaurant Worries Netizens

For people who do not know what ‘Bahubali Thali’ is, the meal-course includes around 50 vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals. 

The thali’s striking size and extensive food incorporation are its distinguishing features. It is known as “The King Of All Thalis.” It is around 32 inches in length and easily feeds four people. The thali offers everything, from soups to appetisers, main dishes, and desserts.

The food-filled, magnificent thaali, which is one of the specialties of the Ponnusamy Hotel in Nungambakkam, is rumoured to be Chennai’s biggest. Chennai-based railway official Ananth Rupanagudi shared a video of the same on Twitter, and ever since, it has drawn netizens attention.

A Grave Issue In India

The video of Bahubali Thali has by far garnered over 41.7K views on Twitter and received only 356 likes. 

Netizens expressed their concerns in the comments section. They spoke about how such thalis are nothing but ways that promote more and more food waste in the world. They spoke about how food wastage is a grave issue in India and that such thalis should not be promoted by people. 

While many users were agitated, some spoke about it in a very subtle or funny manner. One asked if all of the remaining food could be parcelled, while another said he might have to increase the size of his family to finish the thali. 

One of India’s biggest problems is the lack of access to food. Out of 121 nations, India is ranked 107th in the 2022 Global Hunger Index. According to the yearly study, India has a serious degree of hunger, with a score of 29.1.
