Audio recordings from the flight, which have since circulated widely on social media, paint a disturbing picture of the chaos that ensued. A crew member is heard describing the situation as “quite bad,” with colleagues incapacitated and passengers growing increasingly distressed. A medical professional on board declared the incident a biohazard, urging the pilots to land the aircraft as soon as possible.
The Boeing 737-800, carrying 155 passengers and six crew members, departed Houston at approximately 9:30 AM. It was forced to make an emergency landing at Dulles International Airport in Washington D.C. around 1:30 PM. The aircraft underwent a thorough cleaning before resuming its journey to Boston, arriving significantly delayed.

Not An Isolated Occurrence
United Airlines has confirmed that no passengers or crew required medical attention upon landing. This includes providing adequate training for flight crews, equipping aircraft with necessary medical supplies, and establishing clear procedures for disinfection and cleaning.
