United Airlines Flight Dropped 28,000 Ft In 10 Mins!
According to a New York Post report, a United Airlines jet dropped 28,000 feet in under 10 minutes before changing directions to head back to New Jersey. On Wednesday, Flight 510 was travelling from Newark to Rome when it encountered a cabin pressure problem. 14 crew members and 270 passengers made up the Boeing 777, according to a spokeswoman for United Airlines.
According to information provided by FlightAware, the Newark to Rome flight departed from Newark Liberty International Airport at 8:37 pm local time and returned at 12:27 am. In a statement, the airline said that the reason the jet had to return to Newark was to address a potential loss of cabin pressure.
However, the airline official added that the flight landed safely and there was never any cabin pressure loss. The “pressurisation issue” was acknowledged by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which also said that it forced the pilot to change direction.
