Visa-On-Arrival Now Available To UAE Travellers At These Additional Indian Airports

India recently widened its visa-on-arrival scheme for UAE passport holders. Yes, now the facility is extended to nine International airports, which allows eligible travellers to make unlimited visits. With the expansion, visa-on-arrival has just made entry for UAE travellers in India a lot easier.

Visa-On-Arrival Available At 3 More Indian Airports For UAE Travellers

As revealed in a report of the Gulf News, now the international airports of Cochin, Calicut, and Ahmedabad have also joined the visa-on-arrival hubs. These airports will also allow UAE passport holders to make use of this service. It should be noted that the scheme was already available in the hubs of Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Chennai, Delhi, Kochi, and Mumbai. And with these airports also active under this scheme, UAE passport holders will have more flexibility in planning their flights and even choosing their entry points across India.

Who Is Eligible For The Visa?

But the big question that arises is who qualifies for a visa-on-arrival? Well, this is exclusively available to UAE citizens who have previously held an Indian E-visa or a regular paper visa. This condition, however, remains central to eligibility!

But there are a few important exclusions as well. This VOA cannot be issued to a UAE national whose parent or grandparent was born in or happens to be a permanent resident of Pakistan. Additionally, travellers who fall within this category can only enter India with the help of a regular visa that is issued by the Indian embassy, which is in Abu Dhabi or the Consulate General in Dubai. First-time visitors are advised to apply either for an e-visa or a regular visa in order to use the visa-on-arrival facility for subsequent trips.

What About Fees?

Coming to the documentation and fees, travellers must arrive with a valid passport. This must have a validity of at least six months and should have at least two blank pages. Besides this, they must have completed the VoA application form, disembark card, and passport-size photograph. Not to mention, immigration officers might also request proof of accommodation, sufficient funds, and a return or onward ticket. The application may be submitted online before the travel or completed upon arrival at the airport. Finally, a fee of ₹2000 is payable per traveller, which includes even children. This is done before the Visa is issued.

So, if you are someone who has a constant need to travel to India, this is something that will benefit you.
