Billionaire investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala has entered the aviation industry with Akasa Air. Unveiled in December 2021, the Rakesh Jhunjhunwala-backed airline with the tagline, ‘Its Your Sky’, states that the sky welcomes everyone. Last November, during the Dubai Air Show Akasa Air signed a deal with Boeing for 72 fuel-efficient 737 MAX aircraft. Akasa Air To Hire 300 To 350 Cabin Crew & Pilots At Higher Salaries
Akasa Air that represents the pursuit of dreams and the spirit of flying will soon take to the skies. Before that, the Rakesh Jhunjhunwala-backed airline is all set to hire 300 to 350 cabin crew members and pilots, offering pilots 80 percent higher salaries that SpiceJet. But 10 percent lower than the salaries paid by IndiGo. According to a report by Times Now, the cabin crew and pilot hiring is currently taking place and it will all depend on Akasa Air’s network and operations.

Low-Cost Carrier To Have Around 18 Aircrafts By End Of 2023
In a TOI report, a spokesperson revealed that Akasa Air will have around 18 aircrafts by end of March 2023. Currently IndiGo is the market leader for domestic passenger flights. The budget airlines Akasa Air is believed to give take a certain percent if the market share from Indigo, SpiceJet and GoAir that also offer budget flights.
