Visa application appointments are a tedious job, especially when you have a long waiting time. But if you were planning to apply for a US visa this May in the UAE, you’ll need a Plan B. Both the US Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the US Consulate General in Dubai, UAE are pressing pause on visa appointment and payment services from May 15 to May 29, 2025. Why? They’re switching to a new visa service provider. Fresh system, fresh rules. But if you already have scheduled appointments, then things are different for you. What’s Changing?
Starting May 30, a brand-new contractor will take charge of visa services in the UAE. That means updated ways to pay fees, schedule interviews, get visa info, and sort out document deliveries. But until that shiny new system goes live, no new appointments or payments will be accepted from May 15 to May 29.
Already in the game? Don’t stress. If your interview is booked before May 19, your appointment still stands..
Here’s What You Need To Do
- Booked an appointment already? You’re good. Show up as per schedule.
- Paid the visa fee but didn’t book an appointment? Do it now. Use the current system at https://ais.usvisa-info.com/ before May 19.
- Haven’t started your application yet? Hurry. Pay your fee and schedule before May 15 or wait until after May 30 when the new system kicks in.
- Got document drop-off instructions? Do it before May 24. After that, no drop-offs will be accepted till the transition ends.
