Uttarakhand CM Shares His Vision For The State’s Tourism Industry

The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami, invited our Editor-in-Chief Kamiya Jani to a scrumptious Sunday Brunch at his residence in Dehradun. Nestled amidst serene mountains, his home beautifully captures the essence of Pahadi life. While devouring a traditional Pahadi breakfast, the Uttarakhand CM shared his vision for the state’s tourism.

Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Hosts Kamiya Jani

Uttarakhand CM graciously hosted us, pampering us with a lavish Pahadi Sunday Brunch. Surrounded by lush green and crisp, clean air, we savoured an array of dishes. The table was laden with Rai Ki Sabzi, Stuffed Gahat Roti, Jhangore Ki Kheer, Palak Ki Kafuli, and Lal Saathi Bhat among others. Kamiya Jani asked Dhami as the Uttarakhand CM what vision he held for the state’s tourism. Furthermore, she asked me if he had any words for tourists visiting the state.

He revealed that a large number of tourists visit the state every year for pilgrimages. Whether it’s the Char Dham Yatra or Manaskhand Yatra, people from all across India and the globe are visiting Uttarakhand for its spiritual destinations. The footfall at Kedarnath Temple has increased as well, he says. Despite the Char Dham Yatra being cut short by 35 days, over 40 lakh pilgrims visited the state.

Explains His Vision To Boost The State’s Tourism Industry

The state has also commenced the Sheetkalin Yatra, a sacred pilgrimage for tourists visiting Uttarakhand for spiritual reasons. Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami explains that usually, yatras are for six months. But they are working towards making spiritual sites and yatras accessible for all 12 months in a year.

So, Dhami humbly asked the youth and tourists to visit the state and seek darshan at Dev Bhoomi, spiritual and other getaways. It’s the land of yoga, Ayurveda and more. “Yaha aapko shudh hawa milegi, shudh suraj ki kirane milegi, prakratik saundarya milega. ( You will get pure air, sunlight and natural beauty)” The mountains embrace everyone who comes here,” stresses Dhami. And we couldn’t agree more as Kamiya Jani smiled as well.
