Today is the grand occasion of Vaikuntha Ekadashi when devotees observe this special day on the 11th day of the lunar fortnight of the Hindu calendar. Mostly celebrated by Vaishnavas, the day is observed following special rituals and all the traditions have their significance. Date And Timing Of Vaikuntha Ekadashi 2023

Taking to the X (formerly Twitter) platform, Bhagavad Gita 𑁍 (@GitaShlokas) shared a beautiful picture of Lord Vishnu.

Devotees are observing Vaikuntha Ekadashi on December 23, 2023. Saturday is the day of celebration of the Hindu occasion. The tithi (timing) of the Ekadashi started at 8:16 AM on December 22. It continued till 7:11 AM on December 23, as per Drik Panchang. Today is the sacred day of Vaikuntha Ekadashi where we get to witness the divine glory of Sri Srinivasa Govinda.

Krishna (@KrishnaRTFAN) took to the microblogging site to wish a happy Vaikuntha Ekadashi.

Though devotees all around India celebrate the sacred occasion, it is primarily celebrated in Andhra Pradesh, Srirangam, Tamil Nadu, and some more places in South India. It is a grand occasion in South India where devotees from all around visit and offer prayers to Lord Venkateswara. From Srirangam’s Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple to Tirupati’s Tirumala Tirupati Temple, the auspicious Ekadashi is celebrated with pomp and glory.

It is believed that the gates of Vaikuntha are opened for devotees on this beautiful occasion. From locals to people from other places visit the temples and worship on this special occasion. The grand celebrations have already begun in South India and its historical temples.

Rituals And Significance

Śrīrām 🇮🇳 (@Vadicwarrior) shared a stunning photo on the X (formerly Twitter) platform.

It is believed that observing the occasion has some association with attaining moksha. Devotees fast on this day as they believe that this can help them to prevent all the evils.

Nectar was found in oceans from Sagar Manthan on this day, according to mythology. It is believed that the divine nectar was given to gods and goddesses, according to a report by Hindustan Times.
