By warning railway officials of a boulder (a large rock) on the rails on Monday night, a Vande Bharat Train prevented a huge catastrophe. At 10 PM, the loco pilot of the Visakhapatnam-Durg Vande Bharat Express (Train No.: 20830) came to a complete stop approximately 100 meters away from the Nuapada Road Railway Station in Odisha after encountering a boulder.
Loco Pilot Spots Boulder On The Railway Track
The loco pilot alerted the station master after halting the Vande Bharat Express. Train movement was restored after railway workers removed a stone, partially disrupting operations for almost an hour. Further, to find out who put the big stone on the railway track, a crew from the Nuapada Police Station looked into the matter.
According to officials, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) launched an investigation into possible sabotage in recent train accidents and derailments and is presently looking into at least four cases, as reported by ABP Live.
According to PTI, no hard proof of sabotage attempts in train derailments has been discovered. When train loco pilots noticed a pile of sand thrown on the rails in Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh, in October, they stopped another attempt at derailment.
More About Vande Bharat Express
Indian Railways operates the Vande Bharat Express, a medium-distance superfast express service that connects cities fewer than 800 kilometres apart or in less than 10 hours with air-conditioned chair carriages. It was introduced on February 15, 2019, as part of the government’s ‘Make in India’ campaign.
The Integral Coach Factory in Chennai is responsible for the development and construction of these trainsets, which are self-propelling Electric Multiple Units (EMU) with eight or sixteen coaches. When they were first introduced in 2018, they exceeded the goal speed of 180 km/h (110 mph) and reached semi-high speeds of 183 km/h (114 mph) during trials. The top operating speed for the Tughlakabad-Agra stretch is 160 km/h (99 mph).
