Vicky Kaushal Visits Grishneshwar Temple In Aurangabad
Taking to his Instagram handle, Vicky Kaushal shared glimpses of his spiritual visit to Grishneshwar Temple in Aurangabad. Dressed in traditional attire, the actor is seen offering prayers to the Jyotirlinga. He also performed a puja at the ancient temple nestled in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. During his Pan India promotional tour, he took time out of his schedule to express his gratitude to the divine and pray for the success of the film dedicated to Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, a king known for his valour.
Doing abhisheka to the Shivalinga, Vicky Kaushal venerated the deity with gratitude. Believed to be the 12th and the final Jyotirlinga, Grishneshwar Temple is located just 1.5 km away from the famous Ellora Caves. The ancient temple finds mentions in Hindu epics like Mahabharata and Ramayana. The temple dates back to the 6th century during the reign of the Rashtrakuta dynasty and has one of the smallest Shiva lingas. The architecture is steeped with influences from South Indian and North Indian styles while the exquisite carvings showcase the incredible craftsmanship of the artisans.

300-YO Wish-Fulfilling Tree Stands Tall In The 6th Century Temple
On the premises of Grishneshwar Temple stands the venerable Audumbar tree, believed to be over 300 years old. Devotees tie threads around the branches of the revered tree with prayers on their lips and a wish in their hearts. This ritual is believed to grant their wish. And once their wishes are fulfilled, they return to untie the threads with gratitude. A sacred tank, Shivalaya Teerth, within the temple complex, is known to have healing properties. Devotees take holy baths in the tank to rid themselves of diseases.
