Video: Deer Chomping On Plastic Waste Goes Viral; “Humans Need To Do Better,” Say Netizens

Careless Waste

In today’s hectic life, we have taken disposal of waste for granted. Our careless waste in society is not only polluting the environment but it is also causing harm to wildlife most unforeseen. Deer are unknowingly consuming dumped plastic material, plastic wrappers, and other poisonous wastes. These unnatural pollutants are creating serious health problems and disturbing the subtle equilibrium of nature. It is time to accept this emerging issue and own up to our responsibility.

How Plastic Waste By Society Is Impacting Deer

With the expansion of urban areas, the deer are left to scavenge in areas with high concentrations of human waste. Edges of the forest, roadside, and park are nowadays becoming dumping grounds for plastic bags, food packs, and other non-biodegradable waste. These are mistaken as food by the deer, which are ingesting poison in their bodies.

The video brings to light a cruel reality – our carelessness is compelling wildlife, particularly deer, to survive on unnatural food. With growing urbanisation and pollution, they are now frequently seen eating processed foods discarded by humans. This unnatural diet can cause malnutrition, digestive problems, and even life-threatening health issues.

The careless waste of society is poisoning these innocent animals gradually, making them vulnerable to diseases and starvation. Society’s indiscriminate waste is not only killing deer but altering the very ecosystem in ways we cannot yet quite comprehend.

As members of society, we can make sure wasted food is thrown away properly and avoid giving processed foods to wildlife. Social awareness in the vicinity and social media campaigns can initiate mass action against society’s waste.
