Dubai Police To Fight Covid 19 With Smart Glasses

Dubai is on a spree inventing new technology to combat Covid. After smart helmets, and sanitization walks Dubai Police are now using smart glasses. Yes, you read it right! The first in the region to use the ‘Rokid T1’, these glasses are fitted with thermal cameras and infrared rays.

The glasses use Artificial Intelligence to detect high temperature, identifying people who might be infected with Covid-19. The glass can detect the body temperature from a distance of 2-metres and can also measure the temperature of 100 people per minute. Once the glass detects a person with high temperature, it immediately alerts the officials.

The smart glasses will be used to scan people in public areas and transport stops, ensuring safety of all residents. In addition, the smart glasses can also recognize faces and sends related information about the person to the operation room.

What Else?

Earlier, Dubai’s Department of Transportation adopted a new method in detecting coronavirus cases. Dubai now has smart helmets that detect Covid. The helmet is fitted with an infra-red camera that can scan the temperature of the driver. The helmet also has Artificial Intelligence technologies like face recognition and car number reading.

The UAE is the first to use this technology in detecting the dreaded pandemic. Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chief of Police and Public Security in Dubai, praised the Department of Transportation Security at Dubai Police, for using the smart helmet as part of modern technologies in securing the transport sector.
