Ras Al Khaimah attracts many visitors and adventure enthusiasts as the rugged mountains here offer just the right adrenaline-thumping hiking experience. However, since this activity is not without danger, a climber was recently stuck in the mountains. He was later airlifted to hospital. Here’s everything you need to know about this incident.
Climber Rescued From Ras Al Khaimah Mountains
Recently, the National Guard and Ras Al Khaimah Police coordinated a joint effort to carry out a medical evacuation operation. This was done for a climber who was stuck in the mountains of Ras Al Khaimah. The National Centre for Search and Rescue of the National Guard cooperated with the police force to carry out this medical evacuation operation. The climber was stuck in a steep location in one of the mountains of the Emirate. And as the authorities received the report about this incident, the hard-to-reach location was identified. After this, he was airlifted, as seen in the video posted by the NSRC UAE-NGC on Instagram, it was evident that this was a hard-to-reach place.
Not The Only Rescue Incident
The climber was transported to Saqr Hospital for immediate treatment. At this point, it’s worth mentioning that this is not the first time a climber has been stuck in the mountains of the emirate. Quite recently, in another incident, two Emiratis were rescued by a joint effort from the Wadi Qada’a.
As a result, the authorities have emphasised the importance of being careful while partaking in these adventurous activities. One has to follow all necessary preventive measures to ensure their safety. Not to mention, authorities have urged the public to call the Research and Rescue emergency hotline, which is 995 to report any case of emergency that may require assistance or intervention.
