Blogger Captures Atta Biscuit Preparation In A Punjab Factory

Instagrammer Sukrit Jain (@thegreatindianfoodie) recently posted a video showing how one of the most loved biscuits in India, atta biscuits, is made in a factory. The video was shot in a factory of Julka Bakery which is located in Punjab’s Hoshiarpur area. The now-viral video has raised questions about food safety and hygiene in the factory.

In the video, you can see a man filling up a giant container with what appears to be ghee. Once it is whipped up, the man then adds atta to it. The machine churns for a few minutes to form dough. Lastly, the man adds, what looks like water and sugar mix, to the machine and makes the dough. Once the whole mixture is combined, the dough is transferred to a large vessel.

From there, the man, with bare hands, puts chunks of the dough in another machine to give them the shape of atta biscuits. Once all the biscuits are shaped, they are then put in a large oven to bake. They are then taken out and packed for the customers.
