Kochi Metro introduced a travel pass named “Vidya-45” just recently and this allows students to travel using metro services at an affordable rate. Here are all the details that you need to know about this beginning.
What Is Vidya-45: How Will It Help The Students?
The inauguration of this travel pass took place on Friday, according to a report by The Times of India. Students can now get access to the Vidya-45 and avail of all its facilities and services. Students are allowed to travel 50 times on the Kochi metro with this pass. They can take a ride from any Kochi metro station and reach their preferred destination. Another important point to note here is that they can travel 50 times in a period of 45 days. To avail of the Vidya-45 travel pass, students will need to pay ₹495.

Loknath Behera, the Metro MD shared during the travel pass launch event that students under the age of 25 years are targetted primarily under this initiative, as reported by TOI. But students above this age group can also get their hands on Vidya-45. To get this travel pass, coaching institutes’ students above 25 years need to submit an affidavit from the authorities with their photographs.
Is This Really An Affordable Option For Students?
Kochi Metro Rail Limited authorities shared details about the amount of money students will need to spend if they avail of Vidya-45. According to the authorities, students will be spending less than ₹10 to take a ride on the Kochi metro and reach their destination. Travelling to places on the metro at such an affordable cost is certainly going to be a help for students.
The process to get this travel pass is simple. All they need to do is submit a Xerox copy of their student identity card while buying the Vidya-45. They can do so at any metro station in Kochi.
