Gone are those days when street food stalls offered many options for new and unique dishes. From preparing chicken stuffed inside a bamboo to making delicious snacks, most food items intrigued foodies. Now, the game has taken a U-turn and many food vendors prefer making bizarre recipes to garner views online. One such viral creation is rose pakoda and Netizens have too many reactions to this deep-fried item.

Rose Pakoda Is One Of The Latest Food Experiments

Food blogger Blessed Indian Foodie by Omniviam Media (@blessedindianfoodie) shared this viral video of a local street food vendor selling rose pakoda. What’s the recipe? Let’s find out.

After multiple unavoidable and sometimes unnecessary food experiments with pizza, tea, coffee, dosa, idli, pasta, rasgulla, gulab jamun, paratha, chicken, watermelon, biryani, and more, we just found out rose pakoda is being sold at a local street food shop at an undisclosed location in India.

How is he preparing these fried snacks? To make rose pakodas, the man chops off the long stems and sepals of the flowers. Next, he prepares a batter using besan, some dry spice powders, and water. He dips each rose into the besan batter and deep fries in oil. Once they turn crispy and perfectly yellow, he transfers them to a bowl and serves them to customers.

Audiences and viewers have drastically different perspectives towards everything making rounds on social media. However, no one can deny the health risks of eating a rose pakoda as these flowers are cultivated using many pesticides and fertilisers. These are harmful for us and most of us are aware of the consequences on our health.

Briefly, it can be said that the recipe is receiving much criticism from foodies nationwide. However, someone has pointed out the street vendor’s focus on maintaining hygiene and praised it.

One should not even try to take the fragrance (which is also not there) let alone eating this. There are many varieties of rose and this one (dutch rose) is just for bouquets.”
