In an unfortunately uncommon incident, a customer took to her Instagram handle to slam the food delivery aggregator, Swiggy, for mistakenly delivering non-veg food to her during Navratri, a highly auspicious time of the year. Netizens had a mixed response to her reel, with some even terming it a “publicity stunt”. Here’s why.

Taking to her Instagram handle, Chhaya Sharma, a model from Noida, shared a video of herself slamming Swiggy for accidentally delivering non-vegetarian food while she was abstaining from it during Navratri. She said that she had ordered veg biryani for herself from Swiggy from a restaurant named Lucknowi Kabab Paratha located in Amrapali Leisure Valley, Sector 2, Greater Noida.

Instead, the woman showed that she received non-vegetarian biryani. The camera pans to show an aluminium container filled with chicken biryani. Moreover, Sharma said that she mistakenly ate a couple of bites from the biryani, unaware that it wasn’t vegetarian. She accused the restaurant of knowingly delivering non-vegetarian food during Navratri.
Sharma accused the restaurant and food delivery aggregator Swiggy of doing it on purpose. Later, the customer shares proof of her bill. The online bill shows that she had ordered Murdabadi Veg Biryani. Sharma is seen tearfully sharing her ordeal. As per a report by News18, the police took the restaurant staff into custody, and investigations are underway.

Her video went viral in no time, with Netizens sharing their opinions in the comments section. Many Netizens slammed her for knowingly ordering vegetarian food from a non-vegetarian restaurant. Some pointed out that the offerings of the restaurant were apparent in its name. Others called her video a publicity stunt. A person even noticed that it was apparent that the chicken was visible in the order, so why did she eat the first few bites? Another suggested she use Zomato’s veg mode next time.
