Lalbaug Cha Raja in Parel is one of the most popular Ganesh idols in Mumbai.

What Is It?

This is Mumbai’s biggest Sarvajanik Ganpati in its 85th year and one of the most popular Ganesh idols found in Lalbaug. Every year, around 1.5 million visitors flock to the pandal who wait for around 3-4 and sometimes even for 7 hours to do darshan.

What’s In It?

The 45 feet tall structure is adorned with flowers and decorations every year. People from all across the world come here to fulfil their wishes and get them granted.

A lot goes behind the making of this larger than life murti, it is carved, brushed, painted and decorated. The murti is sculpted at Kambli Arts in Chichpokli. Many even take home a Lalbaug Cha Raja replica.
