Vistara has been witnessing turbulent times with flight cancellations and operational scale-back. Recently, a French passenger caused a significant commotion on a flight from Paris. The flight was heading to the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport or CSMIA in Mumbai. The French flier met with legal consequences for his behaviour. Another Vistara flight saw a diversion. The flight was heading to Goa from Indira Gandhi International Airport or IGIA in Delhi but was diverted to Mumbai.
French Flier Smokes On Vistara Flight, Defecates On Seat
According to an article which was recently published by The Times Of India or TOI, the police have filed a chargesheet against a French passenger for exhibiting unruly behaviour. If reports are to go by, the French passenger first smoked on the flight which is strictly prohibited.
Then, the flier was accused of defecating on his seat. As per reports, the flier is 36 years old and was detained at the Sahar Police Station. The incident took place on April 4, Thursday on flight UK 024. A distress call was issued from the flight before landing.
When the plane landed at the Mumbai airport at 9:15 AM, the unruly passenger was handed over to the police. He was presented in court before a magistrate and was granted bail upon the payment of ₹30,000.
“We confirm that there was an incident concerning an unruly passenger on Vistara flight UK 024 operating from Paris to Mumbai on 4 April 2024. In line with guidelines and our stringent standard operating procedures, a warning card was issued to the customer onboard and the relevant authorities were informed. Upon arrival, the customer was handed over to the security agencies and we extended complete cooperation to them. Vistara stands firm with its zero-tolerance policy against unruly behaviour that endangers the safety and/or security of its customers and staff,” said a Vistara spokesperson.
Delhi-Goa Flight UK 847 Diverted To Mumbai; Airline Issues Update

A different Vistara flight, which was numbered UK 847, was diverted from its originally scheduled route. As per a post made by the airline on X (formerly known as Twitter), the flight – which was headed to Goa from Delhi – was diverted to the Mumbai airport.
The airline cited traffic congestion at the Goa Airport as the reason for this unforeseen diversion. According to an article which was recently published by Zee Business, the flight departed from the Mumbai airport at 3:15 PM. It is scheduled to land in Goa at 5:15 PM. The flight is scheduled to land at the Dabolim International Airport in Goa.
