Vrat Ka Khana By Ranveer Brar: 4 Navratri Special Recipes By The Chef

Navratri celebrations are going on in full swing. From the Garba nights to the vrat-friendly food, Navratri is all about fun. However, fasting during Navratri can be a little challenging. So, chef Ranveer Brar is here to rescue us with his amazing recipes. He shared some drool-worthy Navratri-special recipes on his social media handle.

We’ve rounded up 4 of our favourite vrat-friendly recipes by the chef. Check them out!!

1. Sabudana Vada

Starchy foods such as sabudana/sago/tapioca pearls are great during fasting as they keep you full for longer. Try Ranveer Brar’s special homemade sabudana tikki recipe.

Take tapioca soaked in a bowl, grated potatoes, chopped ginger, green chilies, curry leaves, crushed peanuts, cumin, salt, cottage cheese and coriander leaves. Add soda and mix well to form a dough expansion. Before frying, do make a hole in the centre of the tikki.

2. Dahi Vada

Feasting and fasting are closely related. If you eat mindfully every day, even eating becomes a celebration. Check out Ranveer Brar’s Navratri-special dahi vada recipe made with sama ke chawal or barnyard millet, and sago pearls. Top it with some pomegranate pearls, peanuts and mint leaves. 3. Vrat Ke Chawal Ki Khichdi

Stay healthy while fasting also. Chef Ranveer Brar shares the recipe for delicious sama chawal ki khichdi. This khichdi can be made from barnyard millet/jhangora/sama chawal. It’s not important whether you’re fasting or not, this recipe is healthy yet delicious. Top it with fried makhana, pomegranates, peanuts, and fresh mint leaves.

4. Farali Pattice

The Farali Pattice is made with potatoes, arrowroot flour and peanuts. This snack can be served elsewhere, similar to high tea snacks. The filling comprises cashew nuts, peanuts, grated coconut, green chilies and sendha namak. Make a proper tikki shape, and roll up the finely chopped coconut properly. To fry the patties, heat the ghee in a pan, add the prepared patties, and fry on both sides over medium heat until golden and crisp.

Serve it with curd or vrat ki chutney.
