This Sunday, our Editor-in-Chief Kamiya Jani sat down with the talented Wamiqa Gabbi and Rajkummar Rao for a delicious Sunday Brunch at Bawri, Mumbai. The Haryanvi boy and the Punjabi kudi spoke about the differences and similarities between the food they grew up eating, their career struggles, fame, movies, and more. Here’s how it all went down.
A Delicious Sunday Brunch With Wamiqa Gabbi & Rajkummar Rao
When you have two powerhouses from the Hindi film industry in one room, you know it’s going to be an epic Sunday Brunch! This time around, two North Indians, Wamiqa Gabbi and Rajkummar Rao, enjoyed delicious desi fare with Kamiya Jani and it was filled with flavours, laughter, and lots of fun. The two talked about how Haryanvi and Punjabi food have somewhat similar essences. However, there is a drastic difference in the language, and it is something one can’t miss!
While talking about their upcoming project ‘Bhul Chook Maaf’, Kamiya asked what it was like for them to shoot in Varanasi. While Rajkummar Rao has stayed and visited the beautiful city a few times, it was Wamiqa’s first long stay in the city. In fact, the city is like a second home for the talented actor.
“Banaras ka ek jaadu hai! Wahan ki hawa main kuch hai…ek magic hai. You feel so spiritually alive. Ghat pe baithna, woh choti-choti galliyan that eventually leads you to the ghat…woh sab magical hai,” he fondly spoke about the city.
The trio played a hilarious game of Food Pictionary and even interacted with a fan on video call.

What Sunday Brunch Looked Like At Their Home
We, of course, had to ask what Sunday brunch looked like at Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi’s home back in North India. “Parathe, rajma chawal, saag, maake ki roti…yeah hi sab banata tha,” recalled Wamiqa. “Woh bhi kya sahi din the! Subha Chitrahaar dekho, fir Mahabhrat dekho, fir aapko pata hai rajma chawal banege ya chole chawal ya Kabuli chane… kya maazedar din the,” added a nostalgic Rajkummar.
