It seems that the future is here for folks in Abu Dhabi. Well, the reason why we say so is that the electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVTOL) finally took its test flight in Abu Dhabi. Yes, this happened with the support of the Smart and Autonomous Systems Council and Abu Dhabi Investment Office. Not to mention, they collaborated with EHang and Multi Level Group to host this landmark test flight. Here’s what happened!

Air Taxi Takes Test Flight In Abu Dhabi

Earlier today, as revealed by Abu Dhabi Media Office, eVTOL, which is the electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft, took its test flight in Abu Dhabi. This was a part of a public demonstration in the emirate, and the air taxi, which is popularly called an air taxi, showcased the emirate’s commitment towards the future of urban mobility.

A Test In Abu Dhabi’s Hot Weather

In fact, with the aim of bringing fully autonomous passenger aircraft to Abu Dhabi, these are expected to offer safe and zero-emission mobility. This is also an important step towards integrating urban mobility into everyday life. With this autonomous mission, hot weather performance was also judged! It was conducted under the oversight of the UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority and offered a living proof of the regulatory, operational and infrastructure that would be essential for the safe scaling of this new mode of transport.

More About The eVTOL

Talking about the eVTOL aircraft, it combines full autonomy with electric propulsion. Moreover, it features eight arms that are equipped with 16 propellers, each of which is powered by a dual motor system. Complete with 32 independent electric motors. The design ensures that there are efficient vertical takeoff and landing capabilities.

With the test flight complete, one can certainly expect that the future of travelling in Abu Dhabi is here.
