Watch: Leopard Walks Into Mumbai’s Film City & Kills Dog; Camera Traps Installed To Catch It

In the times we live in, it’s not uncommon to find a leopard in a city. After all, we’ve encroached forests for urbanisation. Recently, dancer-actor Raghav Juyal spotted a leopard crossing a road in Uttarakhand. And now, a leopard was recently spotted in Mumbai’s Film City in Goregaon. Read on to know what happened next in Film City.

Leopard Spotted On Sets Of Mumbai’s Film City

A viral video showed a leopard walking into the sets of Mumbai’s famous Film City. Near the leopard, a partially eaten carcass of a stray dog was discovered. According to a report by The Indian Expres, a Maharashtra forest department official stated that the presence of a leopard has created panic among staff and workers.

As per a TOI article, the leopard walked into the set of actors Shoaib Ibrahim and Ayushi Khurana’s show, Ajooni. There were 200 people from different TV shows on the set. But the leopard walked into the set of Ajooni in Film City. The viral video showed the wild animal climbing the rooftop of the set.

Suresh Shyamlal Gupta, the President of the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA )stated to TOI that the leopard was spotted at 9:45 am. He adds that 300 artists were present at that time and they panicked profusely. However, nobody was injured on the sets. However, the leopard killed and ate a stray dog. Suresh Shyamlal Gupta further assured that they have raised concerns about this matter.

Artists Given Saftey Guidelines

However, this is not the first time the sets of Film City witnessed a leopard. Earlier, leopards were spotted breaking into the sets Meri Saas Bhoot Hai and Neerja in Film City. This is because Film City shares its boundary with Sanjay Gandhi National Park. The Forest Department has combated the matter by installing camera traps.

Forest officials have warned artists to walk around in groups and not venture out alone in the forested patches. Also, they have been instructed to use torches while moving around.
