The viral video starts with the cook placing a slice of peeled watermelon on a pan. She adds a packet of popcorn kernel to it and cuts the fruit into pieces. She continues to give the watermelon and kernels a nice stir and then covers the pan with a transparent lid. Once the popcorn gets ready, she takes off the lid. The snack looks quite appetising and the bright red colour surely looks amazing. We have tried cheese, caramel, salty, and more flavours before. Foodies love all these delish flavours. But does everyone like the idea of watermelon popcorn?

Shared less than 2 weeks back, the viral video has already garnered around 18 million views with over 311K likes and thousands of comments and reactions from Netizens. Though it looks like an easy-peasy method to make some watermelon popcorn at home, many Internet users do not believe it. Many feel like it’s a well-edited video and it is impossible in reality.

There are so many comments about how the cook has used red food colour to add get that bright vibrant red popcorn. A comment read “Sorry fake. They had to add food color to it. Watermelon juice is not that red”. Someone wrote, “I dunno…. but intrigued”. “Boomers seeing this and believing”, another user left this comment.
