For a delightful Sunday Brunch, Nawazuddin Siddiqui welcomed our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, into his stunning home in Mumbai for an exclusive house tour and a hearty, wholesome meal. Nawazuddin shared with Kamiya how he was personally involved in designing every corner of his home. From the interiors to the paintings, Nawaz has crafted his stunning mansion in Mumbai with passion and love. Let’s take a look at how Nawazuddin built this beautiful home.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui Designed His Own House!
Nawazuddin Siddiqui didn’t hire any interior designer; instead, he designed his home entirely on his own. He drew inspiration from the architecture and aesthetics that he studied in his drama school. As Kamiya Jani stepped into the Nawab’s mansion, she was mesmerised by the beautiful interiors. She said, “Yeh ghar dekh kar pata chalta hai ki mehnat ka phal meetha hi nahi, mehenga bhi hota hai.”
Nawazuddin has been living in this house for almost four years, and he gave us a home tour, showcasing several special corners of his home. He took us to the seating area where he usually holds script narration meetings with directors. The house features multiple theatre-themed paintings that Nawaz once played on stage in his early acting days. Nawazuddin Siddiqui has kept paintings from iconic plays like Othello, Hamlet, and Waiting for Godot, along with striking portraits of Stanes Lerski, Shakespeare, and many more.
Nawaz shared that he never imagined owning a home in Mumbai, but he took part in every single decision while building this mansion. His favourite spot is the balcony, which reminds him of his childhood home in his village. Interestingly, the design of the balcony is inspired by the famous Romeo and Juliet scene. He chose to build his home in Versova for its greenery, parks, and spacious environment.
Showing the large windows of his mansion, Nawaz said with a smile, “Ghar aisa chahiye ki pankhe na chalao toh bhi chal jaye.” He then took Kamiya to his airy, open terrace, where the soothing sound of birdsong fills the space. Wrapping up the tour, Kamiya joined Nawaz in his open kitchen for a fun game, adding a light-hearted moment to this memorable Sunday brunch.

We Challenged Him To Play A Fun Game
Kamiya came up with a fun game named ”How well do you know your kitchen?” After hearing the name of the game, Nawazuddin instantly responded, “Haar jaunga.” Kamiya then asked him questions like, Where are the spoons kept? Where’s the salt, moong dal, tea leaves, garam masalas, dry fruits, and more? Nawaz appeared clueless and kept looking at his cook for help, to which Kamiya laughed and said, “Apni cook ki aur dekhte hue, clue maang rahe hain!”
While Nawazuddin seemed unfamiliar with his kitchen setup, he did mention that he knows how to cook, and one of his specialities is aloo-patta gobhi (potato-cabbage). He also showcased his drawing skills by sketching the dishes prepared for the Sunday brunch at his home.
