“We Have Bunkers In Border Villages & Readymade Ones In Cities,” Major General GD Bakshi Shares

In an episode of Sandese Aate Hai, our Editor-in-Chief Kamiya Jani sat down with none other than–Major General GD Bakshi. Known for his candour, deep military knowledge, and fierce patriotism, the decorated war veteran opened up about the recent India-Pakistan conflict. Major General GD Bakshi Talks About Safety Bunkers In India

During an interesting conversation with our Editor-in-Chief Kamiya Jani, Major General GD Bakshi spoke about how Israel has bunkers for the safety of its citizens in adverse circumstances. She asked if he thinks that India should have similar safety bunkers in its cities and villages.

“We have bunkers in our border villages. Wahan sab ne bana rakhe hain! And you also have readymade bunkers. In any metro city, go to your nearest metro station, it’s safe. Metro station se better, readymade, and air-conditioned bunkers aur kahan milenge?” the retired general shared.

Seeing the circumstances a few weeks back, Kamiya asked Major General GD Bakshi if he felt that the attacks could reach our major cities as well. He said, “Ho sakta hai, par ab jaisi maar pad gayi hai na, ab toh nahi hone wala. Now, they have understood that they can’t do anything. Bharat ka baal bhi baaka nahi kar sakte!

Explains How Ceasefire Happens

Having braved some of the most difficult border situations during his service, Major General Bakshi knows how armed forces work in difficult situations. So, we couldn’t help but ask him how negotiations and ceasefires happen during war-like situations.

He explained that normally, a ceasefire happens when powerful countries like the USA mediate between the conflicting nations. He shared that during the Kargil war, the then-President of the US, Bill Clinton mediated the ceasefire talks between India and Pakistan.
