We Tried Some Of Maheep Singh’s Favourites At Cafe Lota

Comedian Maheep Singh, known for his epic comebacks, will leave you rofl-ing in no time! Recently, he has grabbed eyeballs after being a judge on fellow comedian Samay Raina’s popular show, India’s Got Latent. For this episode of Tere Gully Mein, Tonakshi Kalra, our anchor, caught up with Maheep in Central Delhi and enjoyed some mouthwatering food at Cafe Lota and Pappu Chaat Bhandaar.

At Cafe Lota In Connaught Place With Maheep Singh

For this excellent food trail around Central Delhi, we started with Cafe Lota. Situated within the famous National Crafts Museum, this restaurant showcases rustic yet modern decor with a superb menu of regional Indian cuisines with a contemporary twist. Maheep Singh revealed that Cafe Lota is one of his most frequented eateries in the city.

It is owned by one of his friends, who invited him for the first-ever tasting menu! He acted as the food critic on the panel before Cafe Lota opened its doors to the public! Our guest jokingly said, “Whenever you are given an opportunity to criticise something, you shouldn’t leave that.”

Just as we entered Cafe Lota, Maheep Singh mentioned, “It’s a very nice place and the food here is excellent. I have personal experience of this place.” He assured us that the delectable regional dishes would win our hearts in the first bite. The comedian was keen for us to indulge in its goodness. Needless to say, our excitement was piqued!

His Favourite Dishes Here Are…

After a lot of fun conversations, our food was finally on the table! The intense aromas and appetising food spread certainly made our stomachs growl with hunger. We tucked into the delish sabudana vada popcorn, dosa rolls, palak patta chaat, croquettes, and drinks.

The sabudana vada popcorn was paired with the popular Maharashtrian condiment, thecha. Thecha truly elevated the simple sabudana vada and Tonakshi was blown away by its flavour. The conversation continued about food in Delhi as they slowly relished it all.
