32 Luxury Hotels Will Be Built In West Bengal

In a conversation with The Times of India, tourism officials shared that this Indian state will be home to 32 new luxurious hotels very soon. In the next 2-3 years, these new establishments will open doors with a significant percentage being five-star lavish properties. As of now, the estimated proposal investment stands at nearly ₹5,000 crores, making it the largest contribution to property and hotel development in West Bengal’s history.
As shared by tourism officials, a budget of ₹4,400 crore has been decided for investing in this vast project in West Bengal. The estimation and final amount can surge as high as ₹5,000 crore. It is only a matter of time to wait and see the official finalised budget to develop 32 luxury hotels in this state.
The highly-anticipated Bengal Global Business Summit will be organised on February 5 and 6, 2025. During this special event, renowned hospitality names are expected to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU). This official agreement will be for the introduction and development of new luxurious hotels statewide. Also, this event will witness West Bengal’s biggest MICE (meeting, incentive, conference, exhibition) conclave.
How Long Will It Take For The Project To Complete?

Setting up 32 humongous properties is not a job of a month or two. It will take a couple of years to wrap up the project entirely. As per expectations, some hotels will be developed completely within 2026. Some of these hotels will take till 2028 as well.
Siliguri records an impressive tourist footfall annually and plans are to build around 10 hotels in this city. With new developments, Kolkata is likely to be home to double the number of five-star rooms in comparison to present times. Also, this massive project will double the five-star hotel room options in West Bengal.
