In an effort to improve travellers’ experiences at airports, Air India has introduced “Project Abhinandan,” a fresh programme. It would provide travellers with a customised and hassle-free experience to handle lost luggage and missing flights. Here are the details of the programme by the airline.
Air India Introduces “Project Abhinandan”
Air India has stationed specially trained service assurance officers at 16 key airports throughout the nation as part of the plan to provide on-ground assistance. These officers have reportedly been stationed at airports in Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Calicut, Chennai, Delhi, Goa, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Nagpur, Mumbai, Pune, Varanasi, and Visakhapatnam, according to Air India.
When passengers of Air India require assistance, these officers will be available in the check-in area, lounges, close to boarding gates, during transit, or in the arrival hall. In the end, 100 such officers have been hired by Air India and placed throughout the airports. Additionally, these police have received training on how to handle a variety of passenger problems, including cancelled flights, delayed baggage delivery, and missing connections at airports.

These policemen would be on hand at the airports in addition to those employed by Air India and ground handling companies, according to Air India. Despite how regularly one travels, airport experiences can be intimidating for many air travellers, according to Air India Chief Customer Experience & Ground Handling Officer Rajesh Dogra.
Attempts To Improve Passengers’ Experience
He also stated that “Project Abhinandan” is the airline’s honest attempt to streamline the airport experience for its visitors and significantly improve their overall travel experience. In order to make sure passengers feel welcomed and at ease when flying with Air India, the airline said that their presence will alleviate them of the frequently intimidating airport experience.
No matter their booked cabin class, any Air India passenger will be able to receive assistance from these service assurance officers at 16 important Indian airports, including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Calicut, Chennai, Delhi, Goa, Nagpur, Hyderabad, Kochi, Visakhapatnam, Kolkata, Lucknow, Guwahati, Mumbai, Pune and Varanasi.
What’s more intriguing is that these SAOs will be there in addition to the usual Air India staff members and workers of other ground-handling organisations.
