Chandigarh MP Manish Tiwari recently unveiled Buddy Mobility Care, the city’s ambitious project to promote inclusivity and mobility solutions for the differently-abled. Buddy Mobility Care, A Mode Of Transportation For The Specially-Abled
As per a report by The Tribune, Buddy Mobility Care is a service designed to offer safe and accessible transportation options to the differently-abled. This project features vehicles teemed with hydraulic lifts and ramps for easy access. Chandigarh MP Manish Tiwari while launching the mobility solution, addressed the audience at Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration, Sector 26.
The MP highlighted the importance of services like Mobility Care in enhancing the quality of life of the specially-abled community. An inspiring film named ‘Above the Limits’ was played showcasing the journey of the startup and its impact in improving the lives of wheelchair-dependent and disabled individuals.
Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Ojaswwee Sharma, the short film posted on X (formerly Twitter) features the real-life stories of people who have benefited from this mobility solution. Moreover, Tiwari emphasised the need for similar inclusive solutions in private and public transportation. He lauded Buddy Mobility Care for its inclusive and futuristic approach.
The founder of Buddy Mobility Care, Sartaj Lamba stated that their goal was to provide a service that serves two purposes: meets the transportation needs and also empowers the specially-abled. With the national launch of the mobility solution, Lamba hopes to inspire change in how society views such initiatives for the disabled.

Will Soon Launch In Bengaluru
Buddy Mobility Care was devised by Lamba after facing difficulties tending to her father-in-law, Maj. Gen JS Lamba. According to The Tribune article, Buddy is a term, used by Army officers for a person they can rely on. Similarly, this is a service that the differently-abled can rely on as a mode of transport that never fails them. Interestingly, this startup is run by a team of passionate women including Sartaj’s mother-in-law.
This mobility solution is viewed as a game-changer in India’s transportation industry. What has started in Chandigarh with the support of MP Manish Tiwari may soon percolate to Bengaluru. Currently, you’d find this inclusive mode of transportation in New Delhi and Himachal Pradesh as well.
