The Dubai Government is constantly launching new initiatives for the people. To ensure that the cultural legacy continues to inspire future generations, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Maktoum launched the Erth Dubai initiative. This is an engaging initiative that aims to document the emirate’s history and we are here to tell you all about it.
Erth Dubai Initiative Launched
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Maktoum, who is the Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence of the UAE and the Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai launched Erth Dubai. This is a new initiative, which aims to document the rich history and heritage of the emirate. Yes, they aim to do so by gathering and cataloguing the stories and life experiences of community members. These will showcase Dubai’s development over the years and the lives of its people across generations.
With the aim of strengthening the collective memory of Dubai’s transformation over the years, it also aims to deepen communities, understanding of its history and heritage as a fundamental element. In fact, Erth Dubai also ensures that the cultural legacy continues to inspire future generations.
More About The Initiative
As it happens, this initiative invites members of the Dubai community across a variety of age groups. They will get to share their interesting stories to ensure that Dubai’s heritage continues to inspire generations to come. An interactive platform is being developed for gathering historical and cultural accounts of the past from individuals and families. In fact, this will be carried across several phases throughout 2025. Yes, it will start with a collection of submissions from the community. And when it reaches the later stage, these submissions will be evaluated by specialised juries who are well-versed in historical, social and cultural aspects to capture the true essence.
It Will Also Be Launched In Schools
The initiative will feature comprehensive accounts of history, notable contributions to its growth, life in the emirate over the years, and of course its evolution over time. In fact, in collaboration with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority, the initiative will also be launched in schools. Yes, this campaign will encourage students to document the stories of their parents and grandparents. As a result, it will allow young people to connect with their roots and even appreciate the stories and journeys of those who are part of Dubai’s history.
At this point, it’s worth mentioning that Erth Dubai is a part of the ongoing projects that have been launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan, which shows the inspirational journey of the emirates. This will be overseen by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library. Finally, it is a tribute to the ancestors and their values that are the bedrock, upon which Dubai continues to build moving towards greater heights.
