It’s also believed that observing Kalashtami helps in attaining success, overcoming obstacles, and eliminating negative energies.
Fasting is a key part of Kalashtami. Devotees start their day with a purifying bath, followed by cleaning their homes, especially the sacred worship areas. They set up a wooden platform to place an idol or image of Lord Kaal Bhairav. Lighting mustard oil lamps is a crucial ritual to seek Bhairav Baba’s blessings, done both in the morning and during the evening worship.

A Journey Into Devotion And Rituals
Offerings play a vital role in this observance. Meetha Rott is a special offering to Lord Kaal Bhairav during the puja, along with homemade prasad-like halwa. Reciting the Kaal Bhairav Ashtakam, a hymn dedicated to Lord Bhairav, is encouraged during the worship to dispel negativity.
The fasting rules are observed from morning until the evening puja, after which devotees break their fasts. Traditional food served on this day includes Sattvik delicacies like sweet parantha and jaggery kheer. However, for those unable to have these offerings, a meal of bread and vegetable dishes is taken, ensuring it remains spiritual and devoid of negative energies.
