Nagaland’s Longkhum All Set To Host Cherry Blossom Festival
Nagaland’s Longkhum Cherry Blossom Festival is returning to the valley with its second season. The festival will be hosted from November 27 to November 29, 2024. With this festival, the authorities hope to put Longkhum on the tourism map of India and welcome more visitors throughout the year. The village has a stunning landscape and a rich cultural heritage, and locals hope to capitalise on these features to boost tourism in the region.
The Cherry Blossom Festival will give the people a platform to showcase its potential as a tourist destination. The theme of this year’s festival is “In Unison with Nature.” While talking to Mokokchung Times, the festival organisers said that they will be involving both educated and uneducated unemployed youth from the village to bring forward the festival. They will highlight talents from nearby villages, like the art of wearing Seremsü from Akhoya, pottery-making from Changki, and handicrafts from Aliba. This will help promote the cultural heritage of the region.

Things To Look Out For During This Festival
Whether you’re a foodie, an adventurer, a culture enthusiast, or someone looking for an escape in nature, this festival has something for everyone! To begin with, there will be live musical performances by artists like Stereo Grove, Ning Dang Ri, The Spectrum, The Syndicates, and Hailinator. You can also shop for handicrafts, textiles, and organic farm products or indulge in the culinary delights that will be offered at various carts during the Cherry Blossom Festival.
According to Mokokchung Times, the festival will feature homestay and campsite options and other fun activities to make it a memorable experience for the visitors. The entry fee for the event is ₹50 per person.
