Well, a recent report revealed the opposite. Sleep divorce is one of the latest viral trends and many couples voluntarily choose to sleep in separate beds while holidaying.

Gone are those days when vacations were about exploring new destinations and ticking places off bucket lists. Now, comfort and rejuvenation are much-needed experiences for most travel enthusiasts. Sleep divorce is one such travel trend that sheds light on travellers choosing relaxing times instead of sleeping together uncomfortably. Many couples love the idea of having different sleeping arrangements while they are travelling.

A recently published report by Hilton, 2025 Trends Report, pointed out tourists’ rising interest in improving their sleeping patterns while enjoying holidays. For a more peaceful sleep, about 37 per cent of globetrotters will prefer sleeping by themselves rather than snuggling with their partners while travelling. Is it a secret to more enjoyable and refreshing travel experiences? Looks like, it is for many people.

The travel trend report by Hilton showcased another interesting set of information for parents travelling with their kids. 3 in 4 parents showed interest in making different sleeping arrangements on a holiday. Sleeping away from kids on a different bed is indeed much more relaxing than fitting 3-4 people on the same bed. It gives the perfect chance to enjoy a deep sleep.

The idea of sleep divorce is clearly the talk of the town globally influencing many couples to try sleeping separately and discover how the experience differs from sleeping in the same setup. Hilton’s 2025 Trends Report highlighted a huge section of travel enthusiasts agreeing to the fact that they feel well sleeping alone. Almost 63 per cent of respondents admitted this feeling.

Though sleep divorce is emerging to be a viral travel trend, more men continue to sleep apart on vacations than women. The report stated that 45 per cent of men shared about sleeping alone occasionally. On the other hand, 25 per cent of women actually take the plunge and sleep separately.
