On October 23, Swiggy launched Swiggy Seal. According to the platform’s official press release, this new program aims to elevate hygiene and enhance food quality standards in lakhs of restaurants active on the food delivery platform. To focus on achieving these crucial goals, the brand has accumulated insights from more than 7 million verified customers in the last half a year.

Swiggy intends to improve the present hygiene practices and conditions in most restaurants and Swiggy Seal has a major role to play to make this dream a reality. This initiative provides comprehensive insights, verified customer review-based feedback, and actionable support to this platform’s restaurant partners. These details are based on different aspects such as “contamination prevention, optimal cooking, and packaging quality.”

These necessary steps help partners understand areas of improving services. Based on these insights, they can take effective steps and resolve issues. It also focuses on working on the process of delivering food orders in high-quality packaging and maintaining proper cleanliness. As of now, Swiggy Seal is operational only in Pune. The plan is to expand its services to more than 650 cities in India. By November 2024, it will be introduced in hundreds of areas nationwide.

Swiggy has partnered with Eurofins, Equinox, and more FSSAI-accredited agencies to help restaurant partners with professional hygiene audits at better rates. In addition, these places can make the best use of “exclusive pricing on third-party cleaning and pest control services,” the release further added.

A Swiggy Seal badge featured on restaurants’ menus will imply that these places have a well-maintained record of serving good-quality food in proper packaging and focus on keeping places tidy. Customer reviews and feedback determine the eligibility criteria for this badge.
