At Delhi’s Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan on December 13, Union Minister of Civil Aviation Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu shared the fascinating news of introducing Udaan Yatri Cafe at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport. This grand launch will mark the airport’s 100th anniversary and the UDAN scheme’s 8th anniversary. The minister also unveiled the Centenary Celebrations logo of the airport at the same event.
Naidu stated that this new launch will enhance passengers’ experiences, especially people travelling through the UDAN scheme. Kolkata Airport’s first Udaan Yatri Cafe will be introduced in kiosks. According to several reports, these kiosks will be positioned at the airport’s departure area. Once operational, passengers can purchase refreshments such as snacks, chai, coffee, and water at pocket-friendly costs from these small stores.
The government is taking steps to make flight travel more convenient and cost-effective for more and more passengers. The Ministry is quite optimistic about this cafe’s success at Kolkata airport. Next, the plan is to open more such cafes at all airports managed by the Airport Authority of India. This is an integral step to make air travel inclusive for travellers. At the same time, it creates a lot of employment opportunities.
