AB de Villiers Recommends These Dishes In South Africa

We were in conversation with the talented South African cricketer, de Villiers, and wanted to learn about his home country’s traditional food items. The cricketer surprised us by noting how South African food is relatively similar to Indian cuisine! He expressed how both nations have evolved massively in the food department and produced some delicious dishes.

He continued, “India has developed with cuisine over the years, same with South Africa. There is a little bit of everything. There are curries, sushi, Western and Italian (food). There is a bit of everything. You can literally eat anything there!” de Villiers made sure that we wouldn’t have a problem when it comes to food in South Africa.

Along with curry dishes, individuals can also indulge in various appetising cuisines from around the world. You might as well stumble upon an Indian restaurant while strolling the streets. We all crave Indian food when we travel abroad, so it’s just perfect!

We were at The Sassy Spoon in Mumbai for this episode. We ordered some of the most delectable dishes for our guest, keeping in mind that his South African belly can handle a little of Indian spices! A beautiful food spread of tacos, pizza, stir fry, salads, and more was waiting for them.

Before they dug in, Siddhaarth asked whether de Villiers was a foodie. The cricketer replied, “I love food. It’s actually a problem because I have to manage (my weight). You can’t have too much of anything, it’s bad.” Despite having control over his tastebuds, he enjoys diverse cuisines.

He told us that he truly loves to relish different tastes, and his profession took him all over the world which, in turn, made it possible for him to try various food items.
