During this prestigious meeting in the Indonesian capital, the Indian Prime Minister made a grand announcement about the decision to develop an Indian Embassy in the capital of Timor-Leste, Dili. As an Observor, this Asian country became a part of AESAN back in 2022.

Taking to the social media platform ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), the Prime Minister has shared glimpses of the ASEAN-India Summit in Jakarta and his remarks at the meeting as well.

The members of Timor-Leste and AESAN welcomed the momentous decision of the new Indian Embassy in Dili. In a statement, the Ministry of External Affairs shared that “The decision is a reflection of the importance India attaches to ASEAN, and its relations with Timor-Leste.”

This new development represents the nation’s reach and relations in the Southeastern places of Asia. This is also a significant part of the Act East policy, according to a report by the Republic World.
