With Durga Puja, Navaratri, Diwali, and several festivals falling in this month, every October mostly witnesses a travel surge. 2023 is a bit different as Diwali is going to be celebrated in November. But that doesn’t seem to affect tourists’ holiday plans. There are many probable chances of a major growth to be reported in the next month.

Thousands and lakhs of travel enthusiasts plan vacations during Diwali every year. A humongous number of people return to their houses during the festivities. With so many people making different travel plans, airports see a crazy crowd during Diwali each and every time. Though this festival is going to be celebrated in November this year, October is gearing up to see a crazy crowd and travel surge.

Several online travel agents have seen a noticeable rise in searches for travelling plans during October, according to a report by The Hindu Business Line. Such a major uptick in searches is signifying the probable chances of a travel surge in the next month. Well, not just travel plans, this month is likely to report an increase in flight ticket fares as well.

Aloke Bajpai, Ixigo’s Co-founder and Group CEO is expecting a rise in travel plans and demand in the next month and November. He shared how a travel surge can be predicted because of the growth pattern of the last couple of months. The factors responsible for the demand and growth in the upcoming 2 months are Gandhi Jayanti, the Cricket World Cup, Navaratri, and Diwali.

Different travel companies are noticing a significant rise in searches and bookings for the next month. The Hindu Business Line report stated how the searches have exceeded by 26 per cent year-over-year. Many people travel during the holidays of Durga Puja as well and this is a crucial reason for the travel surge in October. Along with this, this month also has long weekends that give travel enthusiasts the chance to go on short trips.

Not only are searches and airfares reporting a rise, hotel industry is also seeing significant growth. A humongous number of hotels located close to the venues of ICC Cricket World Cup matches are seeing the spike. So many factors are coming together for the travel surge in the next month.
