And MakeMyTrip’s year-end travel trends show some interesting shifts in destination choices and planning, both for domestic and international travel. Most Searched Destinations For Year-End Travel
MakeMyTrip released travel search and booking trends in India for the year-end 2024. According to the report, Goa remains the top domestic destination for Indians when planning a year-end trip. Internationally, the UAE has emerged as the most preferred destination.
Here are the top 20 most searched domestic destinations for year-end travel –

40% of these domestic travel choices include hill destinations across North and South India. Interestingly, Manali, Varanasi, Mussoorie, and Udaipur witnessed a double-digit percentage growth in searches. Also, just like last year, the Saturday before Christmas (December 21), continues to be the most searched travel date for both domestic and international travel.

With a 248% surge for Azerbaijan and 100% for Malaysia, MakeMyTrip noted a massive growth in searches for these destinations. Besides that, Japan, Vietnam, and Turkey also witnessed a healthy double-digit growth in searches.
Shift Towards Business Class Flights, Premium Hotels
MakeMyTrip also found an interesting 50% Y-o-Y increase in business class bookings across domestic and international travel. More specially, they noted an 80% increase in business class bookings for international flights from last year. And a 27% increase in business class bookings for domestic flights.
Travellers are also opting for more premium hotels while travelling. The report showed that the contribution of hotel bookings priced above ₹10,000 increased to 22% as compared to 20% in the same period last year. For international travel, they noticed a surge from 51% in 2023 to 57% this year for hotel bookings priced
above ₹10,000.
