Customers from all demographics have major travel opportunities during the upcoming extended weekend, and demand is up two times from the previous year. Due to Gandhi Jayanti falling on a Monday and Eid-e-Milad falling on a Thursday, Indian tourists are making the most of the five-day weekend by visiting their favourite places.

What’s intriguing is that from various hubs like Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad, airfares to domestic favourites like Srinagar, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Kochi, Port Blair, Mahabalipuram, Bagdogra, and Goa have decreased by roughly 5 to 20 per cent compared to the same period last year. The cost of travel on Indian metro routes has decreased by 10 per cent to 20 per cent from the previous year.

The cost of flying is rising 10 to 12 per cent closer to home in places like Singapore, Bali, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Male, Siem Reap, and Hanoi. While it is rising 15 to 18 per cent in Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur.

The Covid pandemic had a significant impact on India’s tourism industry, which has now made a strong recovery this year. According to the data, in August 2023, the need for talent in India’s tourist industry increased by 44 per cent yearly.
