Bar Baar, Dubai’s popular cafe inspired by pop culture has a little something for cricket fans this World Cup. The restaurant has an exclusive menu dedicated to all cricket fans! Cool right? And this is not the first time Bar Baar is adding some quirk to its menu. Cashing in on Bollywood’s recent backstreet rapper film Gully Boy, Bar Baar launched a new menu that brings Mumbai’s authentic street food to Dubai.
The ‘Gully Boy’ menu was a street food paradise and had lip-smacking vegetarian and non-vegetarian delicacies. The menu included Ek Dum Mast Momos, Chapri Style Missal Pav and much more that would transport you to Mumbai’s gullies.
What’s It?
The restaurant lets you indulge in the roaring stadium like vibes, as you watch the match on a 250-inch screen with live music, cheerleaders and roof hitting excitement. And to top it off – you can also participate at the Predictometer where you can bid for your favorite team and if you are right, you win yourself a free drink! It’s a party alright!
The Menu
The menu is specially designed in sync to the excitement of the season. The delicacies seamlessly blend together the spirit of cricket and the goodness of food. The restaurant has special platters curated for every participating team and the stars of the Indian Cricket Team. Sounds exciting right?
Special Platters
The restaurant has dedicated platters to every country participating in the World Cup. So, fans can pick their favourite team’s platter and indulge while watching the match. Sri Lankan fans can binge on a platter consisting of Medhu Vada, Devilled Calamari, Chicken Kottu while those cheering for Australia can dig into cheesy fries, garlic prawns and a perth lamb burger. Appetizing enough right?
The menu also has other platters from New Zealand, Bangladesh, West Indies and other countries. The platters are priced at AED 60.
Exclusive Team India Menu
Indian team fans have a little extra to celebrate. This is the first time a restaurant has a menu dedicated to all of our cricket heroes in the Bleed Blue team. Apart from the desi Indian platter, Bar Baar also has delicacies named after the members of the team India.
Comprising of non veg and vegetarian elements – one must have a try to understand the level of personalization that has gone into each of the dishes. And we bet you’ll love the name play – Shikhar Dhawan (Gabbar ki Murg with Butter Naan), Virat Kohli (Kohli Garden Salad), Hardik Pandya (Maggi Masala) and a whole lot more. We have a special liking for the Mahi Ke Kabab – dedicated to the Mahi man himself – MS Dhoni! The dishes range between AED 30 to AED 45.
Cocktail Menu
Food aside, the restaurant’s pub also has a special cocktail menu to compliment the season. The drinks have quirky names signifying each country. Here are a few:
Thirsty Kangaroo-Australia
African Diamond- South Africa
Desi Dhamaka- India
Queen’s choice- England
Kandy Current- Sri Lanka
All the cocktails in the World Cup menu are priced at AED 80.
