So, keeping up with this ideology, two new recycling units will now be installed in Al Ain and Al Dhafra of Abu Dhabi. As announced by Abu Dhabi Mobility, plastic bottles can. In fact be deposited into these devices that will be installed at the bus stations, which will allow the residents to earn points and travel on the buses.
Pay For Bus Rides By Recycling Plastic Bottles
Yes, as mentioned in a report by the Khaleej Times, you can now use your empty plastic bottles to pay for your trips on buses in Abu Dhabi. Under this noble initiative, all you need to do is deposit your empty bottles into the devices installed at the main bus stations in the emirate. After this, you will earn points in return for recycling at these units! However, the next question that arises is how would someone earn points. For this purpose, you will have to download the cycled rewards app wherein one point will be given for each 600 ML bottle and two points for large bottles.

How Will This System Work?
So, for every 10 points that are collected, they are converted into one Dirham. After this, they are added to the Hafilat card, which is used to pay for public transport as the emirate of Abu Dhabi. This move is not only going to encourage people to recycle their plastic bottles, but it’s also a great way to reward them for their efforts. As it happens, the move is an ongoing initiative, which has been carried out in collaboration with the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi and Cycled Technologies. This is a company that specialises in the manufacturing and deployment of smart recycling stations and reverse vending machines in the UAE.
So, soon the next time you travel, and you are carrying an empty plastic bottle, you can recycle the same and earn points in order to save their rims on your everyday travel.
