Here is the good news for the Abu Dhabi residents. To coincide with the F1 Grand Prix, a brand-new wholly automated driverless minibus will be unveiled in Abu Dhabi next month. Yes, you read that right! You will be able to ride driverless buses in Abu Dhabi for FREE. You can watch the minibus model at the Government of Abu Dhabi stand at Gitex Global. 

Mindblowing Features Of These Driverless Buses in Abu Dhabi 

This minibus is by Txai company and is coming up with unique features. The bus will be FREE and will include seven seats and space for four additional passengers to stand. It will stop at nine Yas Island destinations, including the W hotel, Yas Water World, Yas Marina Circuit and Ferrari World. In addition, a tram on wheels is slated to begin service on Yas Island later this year. 

So, from next month, you will be able to book these driverless buses in Abu Dhabi and can explore the places like Yas Island, Ferrari World and many more. Moreover, the bus is outfitted with cutting-edge navigational technologies and conveys passengers between nine stops.

Inspiration Behind This Innovation 

 

 

According to the Khaleej Times report, the bus’s development was based on the company’s experience with the pilot-robot taxis, which is operating on Yas Island for about a year. Now, these minibuses can also be effortlessly integrated into the present traffic situation. 

In March, the ITC reported completing phase 1 of the experimental driverless taxi services on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. During phase 1, the service logged over 16,000 kilometres and over 2,700 passenger reservations.
