Residents of the UAE who put themselves and others in danger because of bad weather conditions may face jail time for their reckless actions. Earlier this week, the UAE experienced dusty weather for two consecutive days, which decreased visibility and prompted government officials to advise residents to stay indoors as much as possible. For the protection of themselves and others, locals and drivers must follow the instructions issued by the authorities.
People Urged By Authorities To Stay Inside
Police have repeatedly warned drivers to drive carefully and safely in bad weather for the protection of themselves and other people. The individual must follow such caution and protect others by staying out of harm’s way during hazardous weather conditions. Adverse actions are punishable by a fine and incarceration.
He stated that following Article 399 of the Federal Decree-Law No.31/2021, anyone who endangers themselves or others is subject to fines and imprisonment.
According to Article 400 of the same law, a person may face imprisonment if they jeopardise the life or welfare of a child below the age of 15 or one with a restricted mental or physical competence.

Fatal Weather Conditions In UAE
Before the torrential rains that caused significant disturbance to human life, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) had sent over 70 alerts to people on inclement weather.
The UAE authorities saved dozens of people stuck in Sharjah and Fujairah after severe rains pounded the eastern and northern areas of the nation last month, while seven individuals perished.
Last week, the public received a warning from the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority regarding the severe weather conditions brought on by a dust storm.
Authorities also give warnings before heavy rains to protect drivers and prevent them from entering wadis and other low-lying areas and exposing themselves and others to the risks associated with bad weather.
