While we’re hearing news of a few European countries opening up borders to international travellers, the spread of the new Delta variant of COVID is inducing fears among many all over again. The Delta variant has already reached Europe and the World Health Organisation is now warning that the continent could soon witness a new wave of the virus. As a result, nations in Europe are now issuing fresh travel curbs. Here is a list of European countries that have already imposed new curbs:

1.Portugal

Any person travelling to Portugal by air, land or sea needs to show vaccination proof and undergo isolation. Unvaccinated Britons need to undergo compulsory quarantine for two weeks after arriving in Portugal.

2. Germany

Germany has prohibited the entry of Portuguese, British and Russian travellers. The nation is now allowing entry to only its citizens, and they must undergo a mandatory 14-day quarantine. Taking into account the rising cases in the UK, German Chancellor Angela Merkel has called for crowds at British stadiums hosting Euro 2020 tournament matches to be controlled.

3. Spain

In Spain, travellers from Britain need to show their vaccination proof. Unvaccinated travellers must present their negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test reports.
