A Zomato customer Swati Mittal took to Threads to appreciate Rahat Ali Khan, a food delivery agent. Sharing her story, Mittal said that she ordered food on the app. However, while riding to her location, the Zomato delivery agent, Khan’s bike broke down amid the floods. Leaving his bike by the roadside, Khan walked and delivered two orders on foot.
Drenched, walking in ankle-deep water, carrying the parcels in his hand, the delivery man weathered the storm for his duty. Mittal profusely thanked the delivery man, acknowledging her privilege. She urged other Mumbaikars. like herself, to support food delivery agents who make our lives convenient.
Netizens Ask Customer If She Tipped Him
Swati Mittal’s comments section was a mixed bag. While many appreciate her shoutout to the Zomato delivery agent, others criticised her for placing food orders amid torrential rains. A person commented that Swati and others can support delivery agents by not ordering during heavy rains. Others asked her if she tipped the man. To this, Swati replied that she did tip him well but didn’t want to advertise the same.
Many others chided her for not cooking herself a meal and finding the easy way out through online deliveries. She replied that while she knew how to cook she wasn’t good at it. Moreover, the woman had to care for her unwell father and after a tiring day, she longed for a comforting meal. Another person directed people to look at the food delivery agent as a man doing his job and facing challenges along the way.
