Zomato Adds Home-Style Meal Options On App For COVID Patients Demanding ‘Ghar Jaisa Khana’

And now, food aggregator Zomato rolled out a priority delivery feature on its application that will let customers order for covid-19 related emergencies. Moreover, people suffering from any illness, Covid, who have no help can order home-style mini meals from Zomato. The food aggregator launched home-style mini-meals to provide nourishing ghar jaisa khana for everyone.

Zomato Offers Homestyle Meals For People Battling Poor Health

Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal tweeted on April 27 that there has been a surge in demand for home style food for people battling poor health in the country. Responding to this request, Zomato launched home-style mini-meals in partnership with thousands of restaurants to provide nutritious meals to Covid positive people under isolation. This new feature is available in locations covering 85 per cent of Zomato’s order volume. Goyal tweeted that , “everyone whose parents are struggling with health, cannot cook, or have no help – please order ( ghar jaisa khana) for them”.

Several Restaurants Have Joined Hands To Prioritise COVID-Related Deliveries

Zomato’s founder Deepinder Goyal took to Twitter to announce the roll-out of the feature in association with thousands of its restaurant partners. He wrote “Today, along with thousands of our restaurant partners, we just rolled out a ‘priority delivery for COVID emergencies’ feature on the Zomato app. This feature will allow our customers to mark—This order is related to a COVID-19 emergency—option during checkout.”

Fastest Riding Assignment & Customer Support For COVID Emergencies

The feature will let customers check meal options for COVID emergencies and alert restaurants. The restaurant will prepare and deliver the food on priority. Zomato will prioritise these orders by providing the fastest rider and dedicated customer support. Thousands of restaurants have pledged to prioritise these orders in their kitchen for COVID patients. Zomato’s Twitter handle later asked its users to treat this feature like an ambulance and not misuse it.

All emergency deliveries will be contactless to ensure the safety of the riders as well as the customers. The move comes as the country battles its worst COVID-19 crisis. Recently. delivery platform Dunzo had also offered to amplify COVID-related emergency requests.
