Zoya Akhtar, the uber-talented director, recently visited the iconic Gaiety Galaxy Theatre in Bandra. The movie aficionados of Mumbai know the theatre all too well. It has been a haven for the lovers of the big screen for more than 50 years now. The place is special not just for moviegoers but for movie-makers as well, as evidenced by Akhtar’s recent visit. She shared a picture of the canteen there which had nostalgic items on the board.

She recently visited the iconic Gaiety Galaxy Theatre which has served as a haven for movie enthusiasts. If you have visited the theatre, you know all too well the old-world charm that this place has. It captivates you and transports you to simpler times when a theatre wasn’t part of some multi-national conglomerate with five different movies playing at the same time.
Her post was truly the stuff nostalgia is made for and clearly, she was having fun there as well!

Here Are All Of The Items On The Menu Of The Iconic Place
The old-timey menu marquee listed a lot of delicious snacks. Starting with beverages, there were the classics which include mineral water, coffee/tea, and Pepsi in a glass. Only the true old-timers know the feeling of sipping on Pepsi in a glass!
For snacks, there was Veg Samosa, Veg Sandwich, Veg Burger, Veg Roll, plain or flavoured popcorn (because duh! It’s a movie theatre), biscuits and dal or peanuts! They even had ice cream!
The flavours are bound to make you feel nostalgic: Choco Cone, Choco Bar, Mango Duet, Raspberry Duet and Vanilla Cup. You can try all the bougie gourmet flavours you want, but nothing will beat the feeling of relishing a raspberry duet on a hot day!
